Europa Cup Altenberg, Germany
Our final stop on the tour brought us to Altenberg, Germany. I was very much looking forward to racing in Altenberg as it is the 2nd most technically challenging track in the world (behind Whistler) for me, and where it is much more imperative to have a good drive down the track than a good push start. It was a very rough week for many of the teams, and 8 of them ended up dropping out of the race due to crashing. I myself was having a very good time, as I think the weeks spent out in Whistler in October really prepared me for the technical challenges of this track. I am VERY proud to say that I ended up winning Gold this past week in Germany and was able to sing our national anthem on top of the podium!! It was a great finish for me as I have never won a Europa Cup Gold medal before, and to do it on one of the hardest tracks in the world makes me feel like I'm taking steps in the right direction.
Thank you so much for all of your support, without you I would still just be dreaming of a gold medal instead of wearing it proudly around my neck.
